Alina Sakko has teaching experience for almost 10 years. She has taught dance for different age groups from young kids to adults, from people with no former dance experience, to advanced level classes.
Alina's longest experience lies on teaching ballet. Her approach to ballet is as a functional training method, through which one can look for alignment respecting everyone's own anatomy. In her teaching Alina higlights the sensation of space in the joints, through which it is possible to project movement far out to the space around us. These classes have been taught and are suitable from beginners to professionals or as an extra dance training for example for figure skaters or gymnastics.
'my body, my movement, shared space' is a workshop aimed especially for people with no former experience in dance. Through this movement improvisation based class Alina wants to create a space where it is safe to feel free with ones own movement, whatever it is. Could we dance like we do in clubs but in daylight in a dance studio? These workshops are suitable for either as one-off workshop for example as a staff day activity, or as a series of classes over few months.
Alina has also taught contemporary and creative classes for kids and teenagers for example at the CAT programme (Centre for Advanced Training) at The Place, London. In her teaching she values aiming to create a safer space, where one can find the enjoyment of movement and creativity. While teaching technique classes, Alina is precise and encouraging.
